King Arthur's Gluten Free Brownie Mix and Giveaway

I am a brownie fanatic, so I couldn't wait to try this!

These are sooo easy to make, add eggs, water and oil or butter, I opted for oil to make them dairy free too.  I did have to cook them ten minutes longer than the recipe called for, but when they were done they were excellent!!

These do not taste gluten free by any means, you would never know.  These are seriously awesome brownies, so moist and fudgy, and the edges came out a bit hard like I like them.  My son also gave them an A plus:)

King Arthur Flour is proud to introduce the very best gluten-free brownie mix you’ll ever bake.
  • Certified Gluten-Free™ by the non-profit Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO), a program of the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG®).
  • Just stir in 2 eggs, melted butter or vegetable oil, and water. Spoon into pan, bake, and enjoy. Note: you must use real eggs in this recipe; flax- or starch-based egg replacers don't work well.
  • Another benefit: we’ve worked hard to ensure that brownies made from our mix will stay fresher longer than brownies made from other mixes.
  • Wheat-free, soy-free, nut-free mix is packed in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
  • No additives, preservatives, or artificial flavors.
  • Kosher.
  • 17-ounce mix makes sixteen 2”-square brownies

KISS MY FACE OLIVE AND ALOE SOAP

I love Kiss My Face products as they are natural products.  I was recently sent a few soaps to try out and they smelled so good I couldn't resist trying them right away.

The product I tried is the Kiss My Face Olive and Aloe Soap.

olive & aloe bar soap
The richness of olive oil has been used for centuries to nourish and moisturize the skin, while aloe vera has long been acclaimed the “healing plant.” Combined, they create a unique cleansing and softening bar that's as simple and pure as a soap can be. Long lasting and made from the purest natural ingredients, it is a superbly moisturizing soap suitable for all skin types.
GOOD FOR YOU BECAUSE...Olive Oil: superb moisturizer for all skin types
Aloe Vera: healing and soothing
INGREDIENTS:Saponified Olive Oil, Water, Aloe Barbadensis Gel (Aloe Vera), Sodium Chloride, Fragrance
This product contains no animal ingredients, artificial colors, or unnecessary chemicals and was not tested on animals.

It has a nice scent that is not overpowering and is great for my dry skin.  It did not irritate my skin at all, and I have been using for a few days. I received the 8 oz size, it is fairly large.

The bar leaves my skin soft and moist.  You can even use this product on your hair, and it is great for sensitive skin. This also makes a great face cleanser and does not dry out your skin.  Make sure to put in a soap dish as it can get a bit wet with use.  Very refreshing.  I like the fact that it is organic, and they do not use animals for testing.

To go to the FAQ page on what product may be gluten free check out
http://www.kissmyface.com/faqpage.html

To order your own products go to http://www.kissmyface.com/index.html, or Amazon.com sells in bulk. You can also find this product at many places that sell health foods and products.

The three pack of this soap is 7.99, and the soap is very large, so this is a good price.  For those of you with smaller hands you can also purchase the 4 oz at 2.99.

Be sure to check out their large variety of products including toothpaste and deodorant.

Contes Cheese Pizza

Decided to pop this in the oven tonight, thanks to the good people at Conte's.  I could tell this one was going to be Cheesy!  A quick bake of 11 minutes and it came out perfect as you can see.  Flavorful, extra cheese, and the crust came out nice and crisp also, which is very hard to find in a gluten free pizza.  This is also a decent size. I couldn't finish the whole thing.

Conte's makes many gluten free pastas also, go to the website at http://www.contespasta.com/specialty.htm for more information which local stores near you carry them.

Kettle Cuisine Soups-Delicious

If you haven't tried one of these wonderful soups get one today, I decided to try the Tomato Garden Vegetable soup, which is also dairy free. I added some tortilla chips and it was VERY good! The soap had beans, carrots, zucchini, onions, celery, and a great tomato flavor, every bite had big chunks of vegetables! Thanks for making great tasting gluten free soups.

Here are some of the other soups they carry that are gluten free.

Angus Beef
Chicken Chili with White Beans
Chicken Soup with Rice Noodles
New England Clam Chowder
Organic Mushroom and Potato
Roasted Vegetable Soup

Gillian's Gluten Free Pasta

I tried the gluten free brown rice pasta this weekend by Gillian's.  I added some parmesean cheese and some garlic powder, broccoli, and butter.  These noodles came out great, really good consistency and taste.  They did not fall apart, which is important with gluten free noodles.  These are availabe online at Gluten Free Mall, or check the website for availability.

Conte's Potato And Onion Pierogies

Conte's Pasta Cheese Gluten-Free Ravioli (Frozen - 0.50 Unit)

Had the opportunity to have these for dinner last night with some tomato sauce and some rosemary Canyon Bakehouse bread.  These are very easy to make, just boil for 8-10 minutes and serve whatever way you like. Be sure to not overcook so they don't fall apart as with any gluten free product.  They came out perfect, my son enjoyed them also.  What a great thing to have gluten free!

They are a bit pricey at 8.11 a bag, look for them to go on sale, or order at Amazon.com in bulk to save money.

Ingredients:
GLUTEN FREE DOUGH: Domata living flour (rice flour, corn starch, tapioca dextrin, xanthan gum), eggs, water, salt, canola oil, guar gum, sodium alginate.
FILLING: Potatoes (boiled, without skin), onions, water, salt, black pepper, ground nutmeg.

They have a variety of pastas and pizzas available including cheese filled ravioli, check them out at http://www.contespasta.com/index.htm

These are great items for kids to enjoy also!
